MISSION STATEMENT

To develop leaders for Del Rio, Val Verde County, and the surrounding area.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Have lived or worked in Val Verde County for at least twelve (12) months
  • Be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Be a registered voter, if U.S. Citizen

Committment

Leadership Del Rio is planned to be a learning experience and requires the following commitments on the part of the participant:

Attendance at the orientation, retreat, and all eight (8) monthly sessions for a full day is required; therefore, no absences or half day attendances are authorized. Even though emergencies do arise, any participant missing part or all of more than (1) session for whatever reason shall be automatically dropped from the program and no portion of the tuition shall be refunded.

Following are the program dates: 

Orientation: August 10th 5:30pm - 7:30 pm

Retreat: August 25th & 26th - Mandatory - Overnight  

Monthly Sessions:

  • September 14, 2023 
  • October 12, 2023
  • November 16, 2023
  • December 14, 2023
  • January 11, 2024
  • February 8, 2024
  • March 7, 2024
  • April 12, 2024 


Graduation: May 9, 2024

Applicants will also be required to complete a group economic development related project throughout the duration of the program.

Tuition for 2023-2024 is $800.00, which includes all program material, meals, accommodations, transportation, and training. Tuition is payable in full on or before August 10th, 2023.

Full or partial scholarships may be available. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please fill out a brief statement of request and any consideration for the Admissions Committee’s review.
