SUMMARY:Ports-to-Plains Alliance 2026 Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Ports-to-Plains Alliance is a nonprofit trade corridor initiative of coalition cities\, counties\, businesses\, economic-development groups\, and public officials advocating for a major north–south transportation and trade corridor through the central United States\, connecting Mexico\, Texas\, the Great Plains\, and ultimately Canada.   It will not only be a trade corridor it will be a tourism corridor as well as recognized as a Strategic Highway Network (STRAHNET)\; which is a network of highways\, primarily interstates\, that are important to the United States’ strategic defense policy\, and which provide defense access\, continuity and emergency capabilities for defense purposes.\nIts central objective is to upgrade existing highways into a high-capacity Interstate-standard corridor\, much of which is being developed as the future Interstate 27 (I-27) system. In Texas\, the planned system connects the Mexican border crossings at Laredo\, Eagle Pass\, and Del Rio northward through West Texas and the Panhandle.
